I have a 2007 c15 in a kenworth k104b (Australia), which is randomly flashing code 55 (which I realise is no faults), can anyone help with this? In this model, to check the codes you use the steering wheel cruise control stalk, and the cruise control is also randomly malfunctioning, but disconnecting this stalk makes no difference to the problem. thanks :)

If u turn cruise off then hold the cruise set/resume switch for like 3 sec the code will flash, turn cruise on and set it shouldnt flash at u if it does i say get a new on/off switch if cruise wont work, if cruise does work and it flashes then something goin on in wiring

I had this happen in an 04 Sterling. The cruise switched were in the steering wheel and the wire coil (clock spring) in the steering wheel was the problem. It was installed wrong and stretched the wires shorting 2 together, but intermittently, so it was hard to find.

Since you've disconnected the stalk, that has the cruise switches, you have a wiring problem from there to the ECM.

I'd check you cruise switches 1st, probably the on/off switch. If the switch is good, you may have a break in a wire going to it.

I had a similar problem a few years back. The cruise would work at times and not at others, or would disengage for no apparent reason. Found the problem to be the switch on the clutch pedal (under the cab) was malfunctioning. In your case, I tend to think that it's most likely the wire to the set button, or maybe the button itself, that's the culprit.

the fault codes are read by holding the resume/set switch on a cat so that is normal

    Hi there

    Need help.

I have a Cat C-15. The check engine light comes on flashes a couple of times and remains on. Some times it will come off and stay off for a while and then come back on. Also ABS light on and same ordeal on/off. Scanned with computer but the codes were off the dash at the time. It read no fault. I also did the check myself with the cruise controls and i got back code 55 !! (Which means no code) What ever that means !!

I recently did an overhead and thats when the check engine light came on and I feel that when the truck is in a pull it has loss of power or hesitation (maybe loss of fuel or pwer, not sure) it just doesnt feel right. It vibrates a bit when it pulls.

Can anyone help with this? Has anyone had this similar problem? Please advise.

    Thanks,
