    I have a 1997 Kenworth W900B tandem dump with a caterpillar C10 8ll trans 4.11 rears
the C10 broke a valve & cracked head and I'm not going to fix it. This engine has been a problem for years with over $10k spent in it over the last 3 years
I want to replace the engine with something bigger & more HP

I know a c12 will swap out with not a lot of trouble but it's about the same engine as the c10 with the same problems

I'm thinking about swaping out to a 3406E or even better go old school and put in a 3406B

I have about a $10k to spent To buy a complete truck to do the swap.

    i can get a 84 kw w900 3406B owned by a 70 year old man for the past 10 years for $7500

    or a 95 w900l 3406e 5ek for $5500 but don't know any history about the engine

what would be the best way to go
