Hello yall,
my air compressor on my b model cat is getting a little tired!Leaks a little oil and doesn't build as fast as it used to.
Do they make a rebuild kit for them? Or should I just buy a rebuilt or new one? Figured that if I could rebuild it myself I'd save a few pennies.
The compressor is yellow and has a cat tag on it so I asume it is Cat.
But all I see on the internet are rebuilt bendex compressors.
thanks Clint

Just go get a bendix! Cat will just over charge you for the same compressor!

Nobody rebuilds their own compressors anymore, just replace it with a reman Bendix model like Les2 said. If your compressor is tired, chances are it has been passing some oil too. It would be advisable to also replace your air drier at this time too as oil destroys the descant inside the cartridge. Typically it is cheaper and faster to just replace the drier with a reman aswell, good time to do it since winter is just around the corner now.

Cool, where's a good place to get a rebuilt bendix?
-
You local truck parts store. Freightliner is usually cheaper than Pete or KW and they all get them from the same place.

Should have had it painted but didn't think about it. I have a new fuel filter head on a C15 that's bare alum and it drives me crazy because it just draws your attention because it looks out of place. -
Check Napa while you're at it.

Napa can be pricey sometimes. But a lot of the time its still a little cheaper than a dealer.
