Just purchased a 1973 White Freightliner and I'm looking swap its engine. How difficult would this be or would it be fairly easy? Im thinking I probably would need motor mounts? What do you guys think?

If you were closer to Canada I'd buy the 1693 if it ran.

It was the Cats Meow in the day. I would not put a 6V in place of one. Maybe a 8V 92 or a 12v 71 if it had a hole in the block.
Have you ever done an engine brand swap. Unless you have a same brand donner truck you normally run into more problems than you could ever imagine.
Every problem is more time and money.

Engine mounts, rad connections, heater hoses, electrical would need to be modified (not that there'd be much more besides basic sensors), exhaust routing, intake piping, possibly some alterations to the doghouse (assuming your profile pic is the truck). May need to modify radiator/fan shroud as well. Depending how everything mounts up the transmission location may change, resulting in modifications to driveline, driveshaft angles, shift linkage and clutch linkages. May even have to change the oil pan sump configuration depending on how everything fits.

    Oxbow and BoxCarKidd Thank this.

Definitely don't want to discourage you but it'll be a big project and take some time to do. I'm all for doing the wild and crazy stuff lol.

And the front crossmember for the front motor mount may be different.

    Oxbow and AModelCat Thank this.

But why do all that for a 6V 92. 12V 92 boat motor swap maybe. That would be cool!

    Oxbow and AModelCat Thank this.
