well it went well. i went and did my road test filled out another application and did my dot physical and urine test then went and did my physical capabilities test. it took me from 7am to about 5pm to get it all done but they say it normally takes two days. the capabilities test was all done on one machine and was just lifting pushing pulling with a heart monitor hooked up to you. im all set for training which start october 22nd so ill be back with more up dates.

There's no carhaul work around here but it'll still be a good read for me and there will always be potential carhaulers lurking these boards...

Are they all day cabs? Does the company pay for hotel stay? -
yes they are all daycabs internationals sterlings and some newer volvos. and yes if you go out far enough ey do put you in a hotel with a clc card and its paid for. training is 2-4 weekes depending on how fast you pick up on everything paid at 10$ per hour. after training you go on basically a probation period for thirty days once thats over you will be in the union and can get an assigned truck and get on one of six bords to start dispatching.

most of the work out of the detroit terminal is city/local work and fyi about 2/3 of car haul is spent out of the truck loading and unloading so that means 2-5small loads per day out of detroit if you dont have senority. thats alot of chaining/strapping
finbyrd and WhyDriveTruck Thank this.
