Actually.... they’re lonely. Even the Antelope avoid them.

Oil Field trucks run those weigh stations constantly. If they didn’t. They’d be busted.

That's an abuse of authority. How many times are you "entering" the state with that load?

I find it a waste of time when heading South to North and having to stop in the port - get there and it’s closed.

Now I usually just roll of through.

 

There is one at Laramie as well. Green sign, by the way.

I have never diverted off the main highway for either of them. And it has never been a problem.

 

But that states that you must stop only if delivering goods in WY.
If you are just passing through, there is no need to pull in.

 

Every time I go into the Gillette scale I'm the only truck in there. I know I'm not the only truck passing through town. As for Casper, the only time I go through is if I'm going to or from Rawlins which isn't very often.

 

You do not have to stop at the Gillette scale if just on the interstate. You go in Gillette if coming up or down 59 or 50. As for Casper, no need to stop if going to or from Rawlins. The key to Wyoming is that you only have to stop if you see a white sign that says commercial vehicles must stop. The green sign is only informational.
