So I get x amount advance, how can I get that into my checking account?
    Western union?
Not that I'm new but never really worried about the bank account

What’s wrong with carrying cash ? Cash is golden. You must be one of those that only carry plastic or cash apps. I know a few young ones that is they carry, plastic or cash app. As an O/O, you have the ability to negotiate in certain emergencies or whatever with cash.
To answer your question, western union charges you a fee for any transaction. Best bet is to bank with a nationwide bank.

Western union is a very expensive option, from what I've been told. In my opinion you would be better to NOT take money as an advance. You would be better to spend money with a credit card you pay off every month (no exceptions) and have your whole paycheck deposited via direct deposit into your checking account. Many trucking companies can put a driver cash advance on the same fuel card that is used to pay for fuel. The fuel card companies can move money form and advance into a checking account or a credit/debit card.

Remember the money you spend as an advance is reducing your paycheck by the same amount. Lots of newbies spend the advance and then are surprised when their paycheck is missing all of that advance money, so they take another advance. Avoid it once and you may not have to ever start making your paycheck too small.

Com-data charges x amount per hundred on cash fuel etc. If I sent a driver a com check I also added any fees I was charged. When we moved up to cards same deal if he wanted cash he paid fees. If he used the card to get cash to pay for some sort of repair (I would have to load the card prior) I paid the fees. He had best not loose the receipt though or he paid. Just how it was it was handy for that. I have seen more wives than Carter has peanuts come flying in to the shop mad as hell cuz her man ran x amount of miles last week busted his ### making me rich for me to screw him outta his pay. So in the office we go and lo and behold he didn’t tell her bout all the advance money he got. I have also had wives come get a com check to take to the bank and deposit or cash it and buy groceries etc. It was not uncommon back in the early days for a spouse to come get a com check for groceries she thought and Dad just hand her a hundred dollar bill to save her some trouble. I’ve seen drivers try to give it back when they seen him to, for him to say I don’t know what you’re talking about your settlement sheet says we’re even.

My point is paying cash advance fees plus western union whatever that could be 15 bucks a hundred seems sorta high

At 39 i guess im a young un, i do not carry cash, but my cards both bank and cc are good.

Carrying cash is pretty pointless now, discounts on fuel are a joke compared to fuel cards or apps

Edit: having 100 to 300 isnt a bad way to go if you want to stop by a farm stamd or carry some to borrow a guys welder or pay for some kind of repair, but gone are the days of carrying 1-3k

ATM for a deposit. I think you will need to use the same brand ATM as your checking account.

I carry enough cash to get home from anywhere and enough to pay for a minor repair if my cards don't work.

Folks don't do things as your Dad did, nor are as aware of "routine" expenses running up over time and use.
J.T. Garrard issued you cash, and had an open account at a lot of places, Best ever was he was an IH dealer. You go down anywhere, find the Farmall place. They billed Harvester, Harvester billed him. Dealer pricing too. markup too.
And if they could not fix, would help rig a deal with a local shop.
I once had a 2 speed rear end put in a 22 White in Cleveland, TN, over a weekend, by a tractor mechanic, and the chunk came from the local Ford dealer.
Garrard had taken the White in trade from an Alabama coal hauler. Wanted to see if it would hold together to sell, and since I had run White's with Riddell, Jimmy told me take that White and wring it out for Daddy.
Rear end got noisy, rough, then kind of grindy. So rattled to the IH farm equipment dealer and called in.
Friday about 2 PM. Calls were made from Starkville to IH, were made from IH in Chicago to the dealer and we were set. Jerked it out, junk. Think the coal hauler had been running black paint in it...
Ford dealer had one on hand. He sold to IH dealer, IH had a man wanted to work Saturday, I took the dealers parts pickup to motel for the night, Saturday I signed the IH dealers work order and drove off.

Almost 60 and I don’t deal with cash at all anymore. It’s downright nasty stuff. I use credit cards for everything.

Here's How Dirty Your Money Really Is

    Lol, “What’s in your wallet”

“In a 2017 study published in the journal PLOS ONE, researchers swabbed $1 bills from a bank in New York City to see what was living on paper currency. They found hundreds of species of microorganisms. The most abundant were ones that cause acne, as well as plenty of harmless skin bacteria. They also identified vaginal bacteria, microbes from mouths, DNA from pets and viruses.”
