    Hi guys

I am thinking of buying a new seat for my 2014 Cascadia. Currently I have the stock crappy cloth seats with the limited recline and butt cushion that doesn't move forward. The Freightliner dealership in Sikeston Missouri has a very Posh leatherish seat with full recline for the reasonable price of six hundred bucks.

So question - is it easy to install? Do I need any special tools other than a full socket set? Do I need any extra special parts? Is this something I can do on my own in a couple of hours on my 10-hour break?

It should be 4 bolts and disconnect the air lines and reattach them to the new seat.

If the seat bolts go all the way through the floor to the underside of the truck cab, because of corrosion and rust, I would spray PB Blaster on it a few times and let it soak overnight before you attempt to loosen the bolts or they could break off and then you would need to drill them out.

I had company replace seat in the 2014 cascade i drive.. Not sure of model installed, it is a National but what a world of difference. Those original seats are junk...actually they a designed for morbidly obese people hence the extra wide seat with no support.

Four bolts in the floor, and two on the side of the seat for seat belt. One hour of labor.

They started using loctite in the bolts for the seatbelt around that time. Your arm might get tired getting them out.

The air line has a fitting, maybe under the floor mat, shouldn't need to cut anything.

Okay yes I installed the seat, and it was very easy, except yeah those seatbelt bolts are ridiculous. I had to borrow an impact drill from the shop to even get them going. Also, #### - seats are heavy. Getting the old one up on the top bunk to take back home as a spare was an adventure. Tied it down with a load straps it doesn't fall down and kill the dog, or me for that matter.

Good idea. Don't need to get maimed by a cheap seat.

What seat did you get? Any pictures? And how do you like it? Last question you can answer after a day or two in the seat.

The stock seat cushion is adjustable with 2 positions fore and aft, and 3 elevations with a cam operated by the knob under the left side of the seat. Best to slide it forward and lift the cushion, or at least adjust while not sitting on it.

The cushions do break down over time, and are replaceable, and guess what, those cushions and the seat itself come from National. The regular National seat is better, imo.

To the original poster, this info was to help others, and I hope you got a seat that works for you.

I was in Sioux City last week, they had an Isri there, but that one was over $900. And yes, those seats are heavy.
