I'm thinking I should probably post this in the mechanic's section but I get good advice on just about any topic from you guys. Anyhow my driver's side hood mirror moves forward and back a bit, maybe 2 inches give or take. It's not bad but just knowing it's loose bothers me. Can I just tighten it up somehow maybe the bolts holding it are loose or something or is this a sign it's just worn out and needs to be replaced?

Well, I took it apart and the hardware was tight so I think it's just worn out and needs to be replaced. So I guess I haven't really figured it out. A way to fix it without replacing them that is.

yeah i figured out if you press the bottom in, the top obviously opens enough space to stick your finger in and you can move the locking mechanism over and the mirror will come off. I took it off and put it back on and locked it again and it's not rattling anymore..

    joseph1853 Thanks this.
