Cascadia Evolution MPG?

    I'm considering purchasing a Cascadia Evolution. What kind of fuel mileage are those of you driving these newest Cascadias getting? I'm looking for real world numbers, not from prime drivers who go 52mph... Those of you that actually DRIVE these trucks, 65-ish, or more, loaded, empty, mountains, wind, etc.. Is an 8 mpg average really happening out there, or is that just sales BS? What sort of long term mpgs are you all getting? By long term I mean over tens of thousands of miles, or a cross country load average. Also, how much do they consume per hour when idling?

    By progressive shifting with a dd15 I was getting between 6.5 to 8 depending on the load and terrain.

    I put 126,000 on a 2013 cascadia ISX15 before I switched companies. AVG loads were anywhere from empty to 40,000. I seem mpg averages of 7.5 to 8.4 with a max speed of 63 mph.

    Interesting how the fuel MPG went up and the DEF MPG decreased. Still, very impressive. Getting even close to those type of results compared to my current would make the truck pay for itself. Not to mention the added comfort of a new truck. Can you please tell me more about what type of driving is involved with these results? Type of terrain, average load weight, deadhead%, speeds driven etc..

    That is very good for a 2013. I could handle going 63 during a good percentage of my weekly run. Did you mean DD15? I've never heard of a Cascadia running a Cummins.

    Our cascadis are 2014 with Cummins drove one for aweek got around 6.2 mpg at 70.. loaded to max

    That is a link in my first post to a blog by the driver, he actually has several posts about mileage in the last few months, you can read the several posts here. He has obtained single trips of almost 13 MPG, his lifetime on the truck is 9.29 MPG. He did some slow lane driving as an experiment that produced the higher MPG. Anyway you look at it, his Cascadia Evolution is returning pretty impressive mileage. In the blogs he discusses speed vs. mileage vs. hours, etc. Because he is running the DT12 transmission with E-Coast, and the ability to coast to a faster than set speed downhill, setting the cruise lower for the flat it is able to average a faster speed than the set speed for the trip, some pretty cool technology coming out in transmissions, I think the same is in the Volvo I-Shift.

    I see quite a few with Cummins, the Evolution has a newer version of a DD15 usually. I won't say they wont offer the aero parts of the package with the ISX, no way of telling what they will do if it makes them some money.


    Some companies hate the Cummins, others don't like the Detroit DDs I'll take the DD myself.
