Ok.. it's a Cascadia.. gotta love em.

The front park/turn/day lamp bulb is a 3157 wedge type.

The OEM bulbs lasted 500k miles, until one went kapuut on me.
Easy enough. I replaced it with the identical bulb.
It lasted ONE WEEK before the Amber coating had eroded to clear and was flashing nearly white.
Changed it and the same thing.

Went to my trusty garage foreman and he said in his thick Spanish accent... "We havva da wonz from Fretlynnuh".

    COOL !

    He hooked me up.
They were white in 3 days.

    Two questions.

    1) Does anyone know where I can get the Amber 3157 wedge that will not turn white (like the original.. I still have one kicking right along)

    2) I thought of going LED (5157 wedge amber)
Will they cause a fast blink, or mess up the system?

Pretty much every light on the truck is LED or HID except for these two incandescent 3157s.

I don't want to mess up an electrical system if it can't handle it.
I've heard horror stories of fried systems. (Prob fake)

I'd really prefer the LED option, truth be told.

I think I'll buy the 5157 LEDs and plug them in a buddy's truck to try them out.

I'll let ya know how it works.
    They were $14 for 2 @ Wal-Mart, and $20/2 @ AutoZone... Sylvania

FYI depend on sam module's software version you may see fault code if you install led bulb.

    Ok. I rolled the dice.

    IT WORKED.
The Sylvania 3157 Amber LED wedge did NOT throw a fault or cause a fast blink.
You can get them at the auto parts store for about $19.. or at Wal-Mart for around $14 20190503_132027.jpg

On left.. OEM and still works .. Sylvania 4157nak high temp (but you can't find them) Amazon has them for about $10/2

Center.. a new replacement from Freightliner

    Right... after 3 days.
