Generally a 53' foot trailer can hold 24 pallets....but if they put that many on you it needs to be a light load.
-
Unless you turn them sideways, then you can put a lot more, can't remember how many and too lazy to get the calculater.
-
I once had over 700 pallets on my trailer...
LOL it was an entire load of brand new plastic pallets with the GPS in each pallet... -
you can get 30 on a 53' trl with them all turned sideways. That is if the are standard size which is 40"X 48"
-
Our 45' holds 14-18, thats fully loaded with brick, block, other building materials. Empty pallets, the sky is the limit. Into the 100s anyway
-
Trucks are limited by 2 things cube and weight. How big are the pallets? And how much does each pallet weigh.
-
If we are talking about a standard 40"x48" food grade pallet with no over hang - 24 on the floor of a 48' trailer (and you usually have to pinwheel the last 4), and 26 on the floor of a 53' trailer.
If you put 48"'s side by side, I think it's 28 on a 48' and 30 on a 53'. Unless you are going somewhere with a actual forklift, this is unfeasible.
Pinwheeling is somewhere between the 2, but once again, if you are unloading with a pallet jack, especially an electric one, it's a complete p.i.t.a.
Most shipments these days that cube out before they hit gross weight are floor loaded and palletized when they arrive anyway.
Why do you ask, BTW?
