Do you grip the wheel really tight? Lots of caffiene?
Rideandrepair and WesternPlains Thank this. -
i will admit i work allot sometimes i go to the plant with a load at 4am. i tend to have a pepsi from the vending machine to wake me up, if im up that early.

Just mention that because I noticed afterwards sometimes I tend to give the wheel a strong grip. Stronger than what is needed.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -

I get charley horses in my forearm a lot. I read its often caused by excercising in extreme cold and heat. Which is my job loading in all weather conditions. My fingers will get stuck in a bent position and I have to stretch them out.

A good treatment for carpal tunnel is:
Wring a towel. As if you’re wringing the water out of it. Pay attention to the wrist that is being pulled. Concentrate on that. That’s where the treatment is. In the pulling.JForce28, TravR1 and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
Does your hand tingle or feel numb? Have you tried stretching? Relax your hand on the steering wheel. No need for a death grip.
skellr and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
A symptom of carpal tunnel, or soon to have carpal tunnel, is what they call claw hand (I think) . I have it bad. When hands relaxed fingers are bent, like a claw. I find stretching webbing fingers together and stretching them back helps. The carpal tunnel pain generally is on the tops of the hands starting at knuckles, pain can eventually run all the way up arms and into chest. Combined with arthritis, I get a lot of popping and cracking, these days, in shoulders and chest, I can tell it’s carpal tunnel related. Eventually I’ll get surgery on each hand. My Mother and sister had it done. Both claim it was faily simple and successful. Stretch, stretch, stretch. It only gets worse in time.

Just go get a wrist brace and wear it all the time and let it heal. Wear it all the time until it quits popping
and then take it off for a short period and start exercising you wrists with something like "meditation balls".
You will get a feel for when you need to let your wrists rest and use the brace again. it will be a slow process, years to get back to "normal".
If you go to a doctor they will cut open your wrists and scrape your tendons with a scalpel... not many recover from that.Rideandrepair Thanks this.
