was offered a job. I know its on the ice road truck show, to be honest it would be cool to drive on the dalton but i highly doubt i would my first year and its whatever to me. I would only go for the exp and being away from home for a good amound of time and that on my off days i still wouldnt be around since i have thought about moving away from where i am

So if any one has some information on Carlile please let me know

I'd do it but not for the lame show. Just for the experience.

I could care less if on the show, if I'm on it I'm on it. I'm doing it for just the experience and to get away from my home for a while and living on my own. I don't want to run OTR but if I go to Alaska I will since my off days I won't be at my house where I live. And when I do come back it will be easier to find myself a job and will have more experience and different experience with different trailers

You only live once...give her a shot. You can always come home and say it wasn't for you instead of wondering "what if" 10 or 20 years down the road. Good luck.

    ACH1130 Thanks this.

Is Carlile now hiring seasonal drivers? I was under the impression that except for people that were picked to be on the tv show Carlile only hired full time, year round employees.

Carlile is a company that runs between Alaska and the states.

I really doubt a rookie would be hired to run the Dalton in the show.

That's what I thought. I really can't imagine any company hiring rookies for that sort of work. Especially with it being on TV, I would think they would want to present a professional face...

I wonder about that....Lisa Kelly was basically a rookie when she got on the ice. I believe she worked at Carlile doing small cargo vans or something, then slipped into big trucks. I find it hard to believe they would hire just anyone and turn them loose in that frozen tundra.
