Please do your research on this company before you sign on. They are dishonest and deceitful with their practices. I have been trucking for 17 years and found this to be one of the worst decisions I've ever made signing on with them. They pay is nowhere near what they advertise, nor is the miles. Do yourself a favor and move on the the next company. Don't waste your time and money with this place as I did...

Curious where you're based out of and what you did at Cargill. Their dedicated runs out of Ottumwa, IA, Skylar, NE and Fort Morgan, CO pay very well. Also, have seen settlements for drivers not on the dedicated lanes and it's not uncommon for them to average well over $1.70 per mile. Not at all saying you didn't experience what you say, but I have seen several settlements for multiple drivers at Cargill and while I will say not every week is a home run, they do better than most in the industry. And, no, I don't work for Cargill and am not a recruiter.
snowlauncher and seebell6203 Thank this. -
I never heard anything good about them. -
Couldn't find my old log-in info so just created a new account. No hidden agenda and not trying to pimp them. Just have seen settlements - not just heard in a lounge or at a truck stop - showing actual people I know doing well there. Given that they haul their own freight, I'm sure it's quite possible some areas are better than others with them so not saying the OP is exaggerating his experience.

I guess there is good and bad in every company. The drivers who complain the most are the ones who do not know how too say no to there dispatcher. I am contracted too Cargill doing the Texas regional, but I still run my truck like a business, meaning I know were my breakeven price is. The loads coming out of the plants pay real good its the backhauls that aren't great,so you must be very selective what you agree too do and you will do fine at Cargill.

Have been leased to CMLS.Now going on 3 yrs.I found , staying in the central sections of the country.Dallas, Milwaukee, Denver , not much pass Indianapolis.I survive.Whats disappointed me is they DH us out of a good majority of there plants .We take broker freight, while Prime, Shaffer, Central, Cr.England get .They just sold both pork plants . Beardstown/Ottumwa. So a bunch of dedicated lanes have vanished. JBS. Bought both plants. We broker on occasion to them.Frieght out of Houston, Atlanta. I will not run those areas.I live in Oklahoma. Get through the house ever couple weeks.
