    Hello forum
I am a new trucker driver and have only 9 months of OTR. Would like to obtain training in Car Hauling but most companies want to have experience already and they don't offer training. If anyone have any suggestions I would really appreciate it.

Reputable carhaul companies will train you to haul cars. You have to come there with driving experience. They will not train you to drive at the same time.

I can not say how effective this training is, or anything else but it is available. The Auto Haulers Association of America co-sponsors this training program where their member companies recruit from. That is about all I know about it, they have a close relationship with Proficient Auto Transport from Florida. I am not, nor have never been, a member of AHAA so I only know of this from doing research. As Slant6 said, the major reputable companies will train you on car haul, but you need to put in your time in other class A vehicles first to get the required 1 or 2 years of accident and incident free driving.

I am not being a smart-arse here, but if you can't make a year with a spotless record in a dryvan you will never make it in car haul, our trucks are lower to the ground, have many more obstacles to watch for such as tree limbs other overhead objects that won't hurt a van but will do thousands in damage to a load of cars, and much longer than the average sleeper with a 53' trailer. This is why the good companies will require at least a year or two of driving experience. There may be some companies out there so desperate for drivers they will hire students with little or no driving experience but they will also most likely take advantage of you and you will go broke paying claims for cargo damage, which is common among the smaller car haulers.

    Where are you ?

If you're somewhat near Florida, Centurion and Proficient were training not sure about now....I think they wanted at least some OTR experience though.

I wouldn't want to learn car haul and driving a truck at the same time. I'm glad I had years under my belt before I made the jump. The stingers manuveur very different and we get them in some interesting places. Cassens had taken guys with 6 months and CDL school, didn't know UR did.

I've seen some hefty guys hauling cars, easily 350-400+ lbs. I won't say it will be easy. Lots of walking, climbing, bending, etc.
