Well I'm done with the US and haven't found a Canada only company out of the east coast I want to move to so I'm looking at getting my own numbers. I have done van, flat, and a little specialized no reefer. I would ideally like to but a 3 axel step and get my own numbers.
Load like seems to be the game as far as load boards but you really can't see what's going on or what the rates are from the demo and you have to have all your numbers and insurances in place to get set up.
    So questions are;
Are the load boards decent for east coast?
What numbers do you have to have if I want to limit myself to east of manatoba?
    Am I crazy?
    Thanks.

Are you trying to run Canada only still and doing Ontario - east ? Is USA and MB-west completely written off?

I use LoadLink. It is expensive but very worth it (to me). I do not run east of Montreal or north of MA. If you want, I can do a search, take a screenshot and send you the results. Keep in mind it is currently Friday at 430 pm. Also - the free version that does not give load details or contact info - is indeed real loads that are posted.

Yes, I’m hoping to run just Canada and mainly Ontario east. I may go west of Ontario but hoping I don’t have to.

Staying in Canada is a very difficult task. The market is extremely competitive, and the rates for any available loads reflect that. Have you tried the free Load Link demo page? If you want I can search an origin to a destination for whatever trailer type you want and send you a screenshot of what you are looking at.

I had a look at it and there are loads there but no details or pricing. I've clicked on it too much now and it just sends me to the sign up page.
I'm looking into insurance now but they want a carrier profile? I've been an o/o for 15yrs but always under a carriers numbers. Not sure how I get around that?

    Johny41 Thanks this.

I’ve been wondering about this myself. But out west.
Been hauling grain on the Prairies, getting tired of the lineups.
Called a few van companies that pay by the mile, but my god the rates haven’t changed more than 6 cents in 14 years. But truck prices, tires and maintenance sure have gone up.
Any of the ones I know that do percentage of the load, run into the USA.

    Johny41 Thanks this.

You don't get around needing authority to use load link.... and there really isn't much posted for staying in Canada.. I would say if you know some shippers in your area, go knock on the door. Personally I think it is a plan destined for failure trying to avoid USA at all cost.

Most times rates are not listed. There is a comments box usually they put the extension # and who to call or a short description of the load. Once you make some good connections you can find your way into more internal load boards. Those loads only occasionally hit load link if none of their regular carriers is available. That's when you pounce and find their own load lists. I won't publicly post a picture of what you get on loadlink. If you want me to search a city to a destination I could do that and screenshot it (when I fire up computer) and pm it to you

Do you just always post your truck? Or is there another way to look up loads available without posting your equipment?

    Thanks
