Our state used to allow 50 % of total benefits to be earned, and still collect full amount, after that, it was deducted. New rules that I recently read seem very confusing. Maybe check with your state, and have a safety net set up, for the shirt weeks that qualify, if any.

Right now Michigan is approving self employed workers, without any income verification, approved for the minimum $160 for 39 weeks, and $600 did 19 weeks. The maximum with proof is $362 and $600 per week. Add $5.00 a week for each dependent.

It's weird saying this to @Chinatown but...

we need more info. Location, state, or city even.

Lots of states are different when it comes to unemployment and school. Some allow unemployment insurance benefits to continue. It all seems to come down to if your available to work while in school.

This is a link from DC, probably not helpful but eh, knowledge is power an all that.
    https://does.dc.gov/sites/default/f...on/attachments/DOES_Training_FAQs_7302009.pdf

I would target the search to where the CDL school is, might lead to a better answer. DC link mentions the WIA act(Workforce Investment act) but say it has to be a field that is considered a high demand occupation.

Good luck China. One would've thought you already had your CDL all this time!

    ;)

Not all self-employed are getting it, they are so screwed up right now that they are rejecting people who had applied before (within 36 months) and either were rejected or accepted,

I know in nj they ask if you are in school. Not sure if it has bearing on if u can collect on the money or not. But I know that the unempoyment office will ask if youre in school.

The question brought up in Michigan last week was, if my college student is back home, not attending college, can I claim them for an extra $500 stimuli pymt. Answer was yes. Now common sense tells Me the college student also gets $1200. So I don’t think they’ll be considered a dependent. A lot of bad info out there pushed by the media. Some of whom I question their motives. Another tv news financial expert claimed you can set up DD on IRS website. I tried, all I found was a printable application to be mailed in, maybe Im wrong, but more sloppy info.

Completely different, and well not even a normal issue. The $500 is for kids aged 16 or lower. 17 and more are the full $1,200.
So sure a 16 year old (or less) in college the parent cold get the stimulus check.
This has nothing to do with unemployment though.
