probably won't have much for loads with only 9 feet. might consider something longer. at least 28 feet.
kind of funny to see semis pulling 5th wheel campers. and pickups pulling semi type loads. -
those ACE guys use them U need a top rack for pipe.
-
yea i was kinda thinking i might need a pipe rack. it does have 26" stake sides all the around also a goose neck connection. honestly i was hoping to stay away from pulling any kind of trailer unless there is just no money to be made running the truck.

Are you leasing to a company? Going rate right now is around 3.00 per mile for a 1 ton flatbed in the south texas oilfield. I would suggest leasing to a oilfield trucking/hotshot company and let them dispatch you into companies to pickup loads. Write the guys name down...make a book and keep track of where you load at/persons name that loads you. Once you deliver and have paperwork signed and you get back in town, take the paperwork by and drop off to the guy that called you. Take a dozen breakfast Tacos, drop off YOUR business card with Your phone #. You want to get 2-4 of these companies calling you direct all the time. You have to sell a small truck, you cant wait on the company dispatch. Once you get a line of customers going and understand the customer base you want. hit them up 2-3 times a week. I use to start @ 6am going by, dropping cards, breakfast, cans coffee or whatever....keep your self fresh in the persons mind that calls the hotshot. NEVER turn a load down without good reason, and make sure to explain OR blame it on being out of hours, extremely tired...Say " I hate to turn a run down, but I just got in from being on the road 17 hrs. Honestly I am not sure I can make the delivery with out stopping for sleep"...something like that, they will appreciate the honesty. Also when they call, you haul ### to get there ASAP. Don't make them wait very long. Don't be late on deliveries. Once you get customers calling you direct and you are not being dispatched by the company. Thats when you go into the company your leased to and renegotiate a better lease. You have leverage with customers. You can take them with you to another company and lease on with better percentage pay outs.
I made a good living for 10 plus years with a 1 ton flatbed and I also pulled a 40' G/N later on. I am about to go back into Hotshotting, I will be using a 3/4 ton with flatbed. I dont want to have to log or mess with scales this time around.rollin coal Thanks this. -
Yes I'm gonna lease to a company here in the Houston area. I'm thinking about Cannonball Trucking not sure if you heard of them. Really interested in knowing what kind of money i can make though. Don't really know anyone personally running a 1ton with 9ft flatbed but I do see them running around out here.

also check into beeline
they've been around for 30-40 years.... -
Planning on getting, before knowing......
Is there any money in it?
That's backwards. -
G3Truks Thanks this.

It's backwards because you are planning on doing it and even have the vehicle decided upon and THEN bring into question if it is financially viable.
