Like the title says, Im wondering if any trucking companies up there would hire me. Ive always thought about moving up, just never could, and am wondering if my CDL may be my ticket up. Im thinking they would have to sponsor a work visa, correct? Are there companies that do this? I will have one year of reefer exp. before I consider anything. Also, if I just go up there "for work" do I need to get a AZ license from the province Id be working in? Itd either be Manitoba or Ontario most likely.

Also, if it is a permanent job, could this be a way for me to get dual residency? Any info Id appreciate. Maybe its a fantasy thought. But I figure every country has foreign workers? right? lol.

Siemens is looking for cheap off shore scap labor.

There's a reason a carrier needs to import truck drivers>think about it.

I agree, but he puts in 6 mo. to a year with them and he's a legal permanent resident and can work anywhere he wants.

I would much rather we import US drivers who desire to come live here and are productive people and basicly live the same way we do, rather than the scores of "drivers" we are importing from other far reaches of the planet ...

Scrap labor would mean a disposable or throw away driver. A warm body to put behind the wheel .......

That company gave info about moving if you are new to trucking, not sure how it would work if I already have a big truck license, and experience though

Truck drivers are not considered skilled labor and the only way to immigrate to either Canada or the U.S. is to be sponsored by either your employer or immediate family member.
I was able to immigrate from Canada to the United States because I have an American wife who sponsored me.

Here's one more. I used to run up into the North West Territories for their parent company RTL Robinson Enterprises years ago and they at least were alright....
