This school is a bit pricey, but they will get you your CDL, provide job placment, and actually teach yto more than just how to pass the CDL test.

I am 60 yrs old, a Vietnam Era Army veteran. I wanted to change careers. I did a lot of research on the web about truck driving jobs and schools. I found schools in Fontana and near San Diego that appeared to be good. But, I selected CTDA & paid the price myself (though financial aid can be available) because they were closer to my home in Orange County and I liked that they were listed on Schneider's list of schools. The course & instruction is intensive and "hands-on" with personal attention. The academy crew have many years of trucking experience, industry contacts, and really know what the DMV expects. If you listen and follow instructions, you WILL get your Class A with all endorsements you want PLUS invaluable career guidance. Trucking company recruiters visit the company and hire qualified grads as soon as they get their licences. I am going to team-drive with a guy I met as a class-mate. We expect to make very good pay & perhaps develop into our own business with experience. CTDA delivers more than I expected - well worth the investment in my career!

price to student varies depending on what class is taken, what license is sought, what financial aid is provided, etc.

Yes, but considering this is trucking forum for entry-level drivers seeking their Class "A" license, the cost is $5500 despite financial aid. Someone will pay the $5500.

When I called the guy I talked to said if I signed up early the price dropped to $3300. That was for the 5 week class.

Dropping the price from 5500 (as quoted for ME over the phone) to 3300 should be a very very big red flag there. Discounts are nice, but $2200 difference???
