Well, that, in theory could work, the problem is, if someone refuses to go to Cal., companies know full well, somebody else will. Until we as an industry have someone in power we could trust to make those decisions, I don't see any solution. Look what the feds got away with so far BECAUSE we had nobody to stand up for us.

Or two if the above fails, they would just ban truck drivers entirely and fast track self driving trucks regardless of if they are ready or not.JoeyJunk, Another Canadian driver and 201 Thank this. -

Again not saying he is wrong but our government no matter what side you support has clearly gone off the rails and the crazy train is out of control.....so i tend to assume the worst.JoeyJunk, thatsright, Another Canadian driver and 1 other person Thank this. -

That is factually incorrect, and then somewhat technically correct, but still wrong on the wage issue after 1986 and the general amnesty offered by the Immigration Reform and Control Act.
Wages have been flat or dropping (adjusting for purchasing power) since the 80s, immigration, women taking up more jobs are the 2 largest causal factors in this.
I dont begrudge immigrants nor women having jobs, but increasing a labor pool by greater than the increase in job availability will always lower purchasing power, add inflation and heavy consumer debt into the mix and you have an illusion of wage growth and prosperity that can last quite a long time. In our current case, we are at 40+ years, but the cracks in the facade have been obvious to everyone that bothers to look since 2006JoeyJunk and Another Canadian driver Thank this. -
I can't do anything about what other drivers do, or companies do. I can however control where I go. I've been to commiforna, never, ever going there again. Nothing personal, but the same goes for the other states with a left coast. Been there, done that. Never again.
You can whine, complain, and use the excuse that "if I refuse someone else will" till your out of breath, it still comes down to the individual making a choice and sticking to it. If enough of us, individually, make the choice to not go there and obey the lunatic rule set, things will change.JoeyJunk, Snailexpress, Another Canadian driver and 5 others Thank this. -

Looks like Brokers are going to be held responsible for making sure that their carriers are compliant also.
“Vehicle owners who do not comply with Clean Truck Check may be cited and have their DMV vehicle registrations blocked. Brokers must verify that the trucks they contract with are in compliance. Public agencies that contact for truck services also must verify compliance. Seaport and railyard facilities will be checking trucks for compliance, as well.”

California’s Clean Truck Check deadline extended to Jan. 31
From the Landline article, and maybe someone can clarify if my thinking is flawed.
I’m understanding it as needing to register my truck now and pay the $30 fee but, I don’t have to submit an actual smog test until the deadline. Since the last number in my truck vin is a 7 the deadline for me is Nov, 30th.
I don’t mind paying the fee and registering my truck to get a few more months out of California but I have zero interest in complying any further.JoeyJunk, roshea, Another Canadian driver and 1 other person Thank this.
