I'm posting this question for a friend. He has a 2013 386 and his clearance lights on the cab stay on when the key is in either of the two on positions even though the clearance light switch is off. All other marker lights are off on the truck and trailer and work with the switch. Any suggestions? ??

He also wants to find out how to turn off the daytime (driving) lights that come on when he pushes his brake valve in.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Not sure on a truck that new,but have seen old relays weld themselves shut.as for day time lights, will be a fuse or relay just pull it,or wire through switch.

Those day time lights are designed to be on shutting them off would just make them lights...defeats their purpose

Day time running lights usually have a dedicated fuse for them that you can unplug. Don't forget an overzealous dot can give you a hard time for not having them. The clearance lights sound like a short. No warranty on a 2013?

Yeah he has a warranty on it but he was hoping to do it his self quick without having to waste time at a dealership.

As far as the clearence lights I would just call a dealer maybe its a saftey feature or it could be a open circut due to a electrical malfunction maybe test the switch circut to see if it stays in the open position

ok clearance lights are fixed. It was one of the relays (behind the gauges) and the dash switch was bad also. But neither of us can figure out which fuse controls the daylight running lights. The fuse box under the hood lists things like pwr-g8 and so on. We can't seem to locate a break down of what those descriptions mean. Can anyone help with this?
