I have a 2007 379 with a C15. #It has a crankcase breather filter on it. #I have never seen this before and the filter element is $230. #Can I remove this and just run a normal vent tube, or is there a way to clean the filter?

Ahh figured so, can the filter just be removed from the canister and ran line that to see how bad it is going to be before I replace with just a straight tube. I know there is a oil drain back to pan so not sure if that would cause anything wierd.

yes you could. but you may want to plug the oil return line that goes back to the crank case so your engine wont injest dirt.

    Chevyho Thanks this.

One last question, can that filter be cleaned or does it need to be replaced? My pete dealer hasnt sold one since 2010, so guys must never change them?

Are you having problems with it? If not I would leave it alone. You will make an oily mess if you remove it. Not sure how yours is made but most I have cleaned with kerosene. I can't ever remember having to change one on a motor except the older e models would break easy due to them being plastic.

    Jimenez and Chevyho Thank this.
