    Hi everyone

Planning to overhaul my C15 accert (NXS) , I am shopping for the kit and I heard CAT oem is not good quality anymore.
    What you guys say about:
    Interstate McBee, PDI, federal mogul.
Also , does anyone know good CAT mechanic around Milwaukee?
    Thanks

I wouldnt hesitate to use a genuine CAT kit. Back in my prime, I would average around 50-55 hrs maybe 60 for a full in-frame Platinum kit with compound turbos. I think this timeline is fair condition depending, and chassis depending. Block machining would not be included in this. Usually clean up and epoxy the liner o-ring flange.

IPD is pretty popular these days. They are doing lots of different and cool things. I used IPD and so far so good.

Did you use their platinum kit? And how many miles after overhaul?

I have a 6nz and used their one piece steel pistons. Did liners, pistons, rings and all bearings. Did use a cat headgasket.
On your accert I would seriously consider using their 16:1 compression kits and removing the IVAs and re-tuning. But I'm not sure if the lower compression kits for an accert would have warranty. The one piece steel I used doesn't have a warranty. The stock kit would have.

I've only put maybe 150,000 miles on but they are hard miles. And more hours than miles. Plus 700hp

Was almost 4 years ago so I'm sure prices have changed a good bit. Think the stock kit was around 3800.. one piece steel pistons were a grand more. That doesn't include a head or anything else extra. Just cylinder kits, bearings and gaskets set. But like I said 4 years ago

How many miles? Why would you overhaul it? ? burning oil, low power ,noises? a friend of mine sold his 2006 Pete, Cat C15 acert, last year with 1.7 mil miles without inframe, the buyer is still running it, without problems.
