Has anyone bought one? Can you turn up the that 400 Cummins? 2007-2009 386's Pete's, I checked out a few today mileage between 590k and 670k, all the APU's fired up. Some had super singles. I'm guessing they are going to sell anywhere between 37k and 42k. Any thoughts or experience with a Wally World truck would be greatly appreciated. Thanks George.

You can turn up any engine. Also Walmart takes real good care of their trucks (as evidenced by their extremely low CSA for equipment). Also all their trucks have APUs which keep the hours off the engine, less wear and tear. That's a lot of miles though, you're not going to get more than 2-3 years out of it, for a little more you can have something with less miles.

Yeah minimal idling, light freight=less wear-n-tear.

Been Looking at them George Freightliner Cascadia debating between DD15 455hp or DD15 560hp..
Where have you been looking at them? -
Richie Bros. here in Denver. auction on th 19th.

I would think having more experienced drivers behind the wheel would cut down on the wear and tear also. I would buy one from them before a student driver mega fleet.

I bought a used '09 Cascadia - ex Wal Mart. It was a very good truck, but I think Wal Mart is like any other fleet in that they cut back the maintenance at the end of the truck's cycle. Also consider that they are trading them at an age/mileage at which a number of maintenance items are coming due. I did belts, hoses, water pump, brakes (lining, drums, piggybacks), hub seals and gear oil on mine within the first 6 months. I also spent about $3K on the APU. I do think their trucks are well driven & well maintained.

These trucks are automatically? I've seen old Wal-Mart trucks same specs just auto I think as an owner op automatic might be a bad route.

They are all 10spd manuals, I just about killed 3 hrs. there, it looked like just about all are going to need brakes within 6 months. Some recaps and a few of the super singles looked below depth limit. One truck would not build air and 2 wouldn't start. These were all 09's. Looking at previous auctions these could fetch 40k plus.

George,
I just ran some numbers off the web....07 spec'ed like this avg. $37140 .....not many 09's so I looked at 10's with less miles , bout $54,000 with low 5's on the hub.
Good hunting and watch your back....paul_4lp Thanks this.
