i would shy away from it. they don't typically brand the title of a truck for a hood and bumper. if the frame is bent or something like that could cause you a lot of greif.

got the pics it does not look so bad. but if you are serious about buying it i would take it to a shop that specializes in semi truck frame/alignment/colision repair im thinking there is underling problems that caused it to be branded salvage. from the pics it looks like a pretty light hit but they don't typically brand the title till the cost of repair = almost near the value of the truck.

Ill put it to you this way,Hustling cars from auctions is a side hustle for me from time to time easy way to make money, but any hoot everytime i buy a salvage title i have to fix whatevers broke on it,if i plan on keeping it or selling iti have to,keep the receipt and the serial number for the new parts either self or pay someone to fix them to bring it back to original, road worthy state, salvage vehicles are cheap, but theres a reason insurance companies write them off, mostly its frame damage thats hard to spot until you get rolling down the road and wondering what noise is or where its coming from or why its riding sideways, trust me i speak from experience lmao, then go get it inspected by D.O.T officer take pics, fill out paper work, then go pay to have the title switched over and that isnt cheap,Now i can assure you that its probably more wrong with that truck besides hood n bumper, sounds like this is your 1st truck i could be wrong you didnt say,but no truck and i mean nooo truck part is cheap to replace, and please dont b fooled by the look of it,look at it real good and i bet you will find something or somethings more wrong with it,i would only buy a salvage truck strictly for parts, and parts only but thats me speaking for me,Im not gonna tell you not to buy it,but i aint gonna tell you buy it either,if you get my drift, but whatever your decision is good luck:biggrin_255:

In the late 70’s I drove a conventional KW that was wrecked out, totaled, I believe it was a 77 or 78 model. The company I worked for bought it from the insurance company. Once in a while when I would take off loaded the clutch pedal would jerk. After I made two trips we found that the frame had been bent, they reinforced the frame in that section. The tires on front and back wore nearly perfectly, and it drove just fine, it would run as strait as an arrow, and it rode very good too. So if you know what your doing things would probably work out very well and you would save a few dollars.

Almost all of our trucks are wreck rebuilds. 2 new ones in the shop now plus one for a customer.
