I’m considering buying a 2016 Columbia Glider truck, mostly because of reliability and to be able to use paper logs. Do you guys know if gliders will continue to be eld excempt? Also will they stop producing them/ban them in 2021?

From other posts on TTR,it seems only Freightliner glidrs will be built in 2021.
Pete's and KW's are allready sold or too expensive.

They are and will continue to be exempt. Gliders can not be sold by a dealer and longer, however owner operators can sell new gliders until 2023. There are not any restrictions that I am aware of for selling used gliders.

New ones can't be sold by dealers is what he means I'm pretty sure. Anybody can sell anything used.

It’s not the glider that’s exempt.. it’s the 99 or older engine that is..

And if you look at ad's ...........not all gliders have a 99 or older.
Some have a engine from between 00 and 04.

    AModelCat and magoo68 Thank this.

You can still buy gliders, they just need to meet 2010 or higher emissions standards, or a very limited amount of pre emissions trucks. I do believe you can still get a pre emissions/eld one (which depends on engine year) if you already have a title for a pre eld/emissions one that has been wrecked.

that’s currently, I still prefer holding the title to a actual old truck because who knows what those idiots at the epa have up their sleeves as far as changing/future laws.....

Make sure u don’t plan on going into Cali where they have the CARB act in place. Read the other day they’re enforcing it even further to reduce NOx emissions. Engine manufacturers putting their foot down on it now saying its impossible in that amount of time
