A little bit about myself. I've been driving 2+ years and about a year doing car hauling. I am looking to get a 9-10 car carrier and lease on with another company ( fleet car, supreme, united rd etc ). My question for any O/O car hauler out there is how much down payment did u put down when buying your truck and what finance company did you use. Pls keep the negative comments out ....looking for helpful answers ...just doing some research

The amount of places that finance car haulers are pretty slim. The down payment factor will depend quite a bit on your credit and debt to asset ratio. CH Brown Co will finance car haulers. The amount down will also depend on what price range you are looking at. The only thing that may hurt you is your time into the field. I'm just trying to give you some info as it is hard to say for sure how they will work.

Thanks for the info ...sxdime ...I will look into CH Brown Co .....looking to hopefully get a truck 50-60k price range ....have about 20% down pymt rite now.....just doing some research before making my move

Your welcome. Another thing to consider when you are looking is talk to whoever you may plan on leasing to and see what they would want as far as the year range. A 50-60k truck will put you in the 2000 year range for most trucks depending on what all you are looking for in a truck. Happy shopping and hope it works out for you.

Yea that's wht I found out. I talked to someone at fleet car & they look for 03 or newer trucks so does other carriers....but will keep looking around and hopefully will be able to find something in good shape in my price range...

50 - 60 k with 20 % down is very doable if you credit is good. I just got truck for 44k, put 8000 down (10% interest). and my credit is far from perfect.
2saint Thanks this. -

Ive been with JMN over 2 years and they have some REALLY old old trucks leased at some of the yards
Dont think age is a issue long as it runs good and makes it from point a to b
Far as down payment and price of truck where do you intend to run if its coast to coast it will be a higher truck then something for example local rail yards or short trips where you go out and back.
something else depending on where you go you will need to look at straping which is a pain but i deal with it lol -
I worked for URS for about year ..run outta of the terminal in Newark ....the company as a whole is ok in my opinion just didn't like how the guys at the Newark terminal treated their drivers. But will look into them might be able to wrk out of a different terminal if I decide to go back there......I live in jersey and want to run regional so I got a couple of different companies I can look at to see which one works out.

am looking to run regional & local up here in the northeast since I live in jersey. I haven't seen JMN around up here only in the south whenever I go down to SC or GA
