    Working to get my first own semi truck my bank asked me to have business license
    Before the service for financial to get qualified for the loan .. but I'm planning to lease with truck company do I still need to do business license if I'm looking to find company to run under they authority ?

    If you want money from that bank, you gotta jump through their hoops. He prob is freinds with city council members and he makes sure the city gets some of your cut. Every lender has their hoops to jump through.

    You don't seem to understand something, you are a business entity that is leasing under another authority, so as you may think it has to do with the name and DOT number, it doesn't.

    Along the lines of what Ridgeline said, doesn't matter the name of your company or the license, if you are leasing on you run under that person's authority. In a couple of years it works out for you and you decide to get your own authority, your d.o.t operating name doesn't have to be the same as the name on your business license.

    You right man ..
    Was thinking for example if someone going to buy truck and find job and run under company authority Dot number still need for business license whatever under my own authority or company authority Is that right ..

    You don't need a d.o.t number to get a business license. You don't even need a business license to get a d.o.t number.
