Apparently I'm hard on push brooms... I've gone through 4 in the last year: 1 wood, 3 plastic (1 Flying J & 2 walmart). The problem I'm having is getting the dirt against the the wall -- I have to apply both downward and sideways force to get it all. Eventually the pole breaks at the threads...

I do need a broom handle that threads in so it'll fit in the under bunk cubby.

    Any recommendations?

I got an extendable metal broom handle at the big cabin travel plaza. Think Iowa80 sells them as a wash pole. Extends from 4.5 to 14 feet and the wal mart push broom heads screw on.

why not get a battery blower? seems it would be faster than a push broom and you can get the crap against the sides

If you wanna go the air route you could rig a 80ft hose on a retractable reel in the nose/ceiling of the trailer and hang a detachable blow gun next to it.

Check out True Value hardware, I bought one several years ago, and have retired it to the shop since the outfit I drive for now does the wash outs at the yard. The handle and bristle head are made out of carbonite, you wont wear it out, but be careful it don’t come up missing, mine costed close to 40.00 in 2008.

If you are just breaking the pole, stop buying brooms and start buying new poles. Take the walmart broom, shove something into the broken piece to twist it to get it out, go to lowes, buy a wooden handle. They sell them in the paint section, the same as the handles that go on the paint rollers. Just get the solid wooden one.

The other option is to stop using a push broom in the corners, get a regular broom, it will handle the corners better.

Why keep buying brooms at a dam trucstop? Go to a homedepot or lowes for that. Better quality and they allow trucks to park. Wow, just wow
