I’m having trouble with my brakes on my peterbilt . They seem to be grabbing here and there. I have to press brake again so it can release . It’ll stop my truck if I’m coasting or if I’m at a stop light it’ll just stay there till I let go n re press brake then it’ll roll .when I press my brake my air brake gauge goes up to 90 then drops down to 30 pretty fast . There way to sensitive also .
The truck is a tandem axle dump truck I converted it last year . I’m not real sure if they changed that brake poroortioning valve in the back of the 2 axles .

First place to go is inspect the brake pedal pin for being frozen. After that it is likely the plunger in hanging is the top of the treddle valve or foot valve. The plunger and the boot are available separately and should be in stock at every pete dealer in the country. Sometimes all it takes is disassembly and a thorough cleaning and lube of all parts. On older trucks, I've had to replace everything including the valve and pedal, mount.
spsauerland and Cam Roberts Thank this. -
