They last longer but in event that they do leak entire hose needs to be replaced instead of throwing a union on and getting back to work

    Pros:
-A lot more durable than synflex air line. Can withstand heat/sparks better. More resistant to chaffing.

    Cons:
    -Higher cost.
    -Not as quick to repair.
    -Larger and heavier.
-Not as flexible. Get very stiff when they're old (like these).

If you can keep the actual air hose under all of that rubber you will not break them so easily in -50 up there in the Dakotas doing a simple circle when setting up a park for the night.

How do they hold up in winter conditions with roads that are sanded?

Not sure I understand the question .

Are you talking about the air lines going to the trailer or all the air lines through out the truck.

There's really only 2 types of airline trucks come with from factory. The synflex plastic air line or double braid rubber air line.
The only stainless steel air line on the whole truck is the hot line coming off the compressor.
The plastic air line is far superior in every way . No one orders a truck with steel braid air lines anymore.
Actually own a truck for 20 years then tell me how much you love that braided air line. You'll end up replumbing that same truck with plastic.

If your actually talking about having true stainless steel braided line thru the whole truck then you must have money to burn. Cost a fortune and no benefit over plastic except maybe the Wow factor.

thats correct I am talking about replacing the stock lines with steel braided line thru the whole truck. Its a single axle tractor with a short wheelbase.

That pic of that big pile of steel braided line came out of my W9. Being replaced with plastic.

Exactly!! Now you know what I'm talking about. It's heavy , takes up twice as much room and over time will rust from inside out.

I've never seen or heard of any one doing SS thru out the whole truck , prob for reasons I've mentioned above.

Nothing wrong with plastic that's routed nicely and tied up with no rubbing any where.
Looks nice and lasts virtually forever .
