Im asking my fellow car haulers to boycott any loads for Metrogistics of St Louis,MO. Their rate cutting is getting out of control! They are operating somewhere in the 50% profit range while putting cars for transport on dirt cheap central for a little over minimum wage. This has got to stop. I realize Metrogistics isn't the only one doing this but they are one of the biggest brokers doing it. The smaller brokers then follow suit. Remember, we are the carriers. They don't own trucks. They cant do this without us.

What I propose is a 30 day ban of any and all MetroGistics freight. From 12/19/16 until 1/18/17. If we do this one broker at a time we can change our industry.

If so, what was their reaction and outcome

I have not loaded anything from Metro since I saw the steep cut in prices that started around last summer. I support the boycott and will hold out and wish everyone else does too. Together we can change things. Yesterday, I received a called from a customer.. very well know rent a car company offering me to bid on a load from southeast FL to Pittsburgh. I priced it at $2900 since is deadhead for me and not to my surprise, I lost the bid. Next day I saw it on Central Dispatch for $1700.00... I couldn't believe it BUT what shocked me even more is that an hour later the load was gone. What a disgrace.

Which is why boycotting any single co will not change anything. There will always be someone willing or stupid enough to move the stuff.

The only thing someone ever told me was that if you tried to negotiate they might offer 2 day pay instead of 30 day. That was 2 years ago & current market seems to be more willing trucks than available cars. So that may not even be an option now.

I use to work with dry vans. You can buy decent one for 5k plus you need a 50k cargo insurance and load from MI to MA paying now anywhere from $2500 to $3500!!!

Last week I was looking on CD metro logistics posted 8mix units load from MI to MA for $1800. Not long after it was gone from the board.

Now I'm wondering how can you have $100K trailer or $20K Trailer, Have 250k cargo insurance and afford to take a load like that.

Are they teasing us with those prices or there is people for real who book that kind of sh..

    Please explain how and why.....

Funny thing I told everyone on Facebook that dry van IS out paying cars right now and they jumped my case pretty hard and called me a liar. Oh well the truth hurts lol.

I bet the $1700 320mi load I did today would hurt some feelers

I understand your point. Another huge problem that feeds into the low prices is the fact that non-brokers are allowed to post on Central without consequences. I cannot fathom how can a trucking company live with themselves posting crappy loads knowing what it takes to run and load these equipment.

Few weeks back I google a car shipping quote!!
I put in city in Michigan as origin and Los Angeles Ca as destination. 15 minutes later my phone including text messages and email started blowing up like crazy!!! Thing what suppressed me the most was prices that these brokers where giving me that are well below CD market prices just so they can collect their security deposit. They promised me everything and anything pretending that they are the drivers and that they are in the area and so on.... just so that can collect that security deposit anywhere from $75 up to $190
    Its a SHAME

    Mash Thanks this.
