Bob Evans is not associated with Bob's Big Boy they are totally separate. Big Boy has a messed up corporate history and is a huge mess because of there regional franchising territory that was a mess of boarders between regional franchises and corporate owned stores.
There is Big Boy corporate and then there is Big Boy franchises.
So lets get started on Big Boy's Corporate Structure.
That Bob Evan's on Brice Road in Columbus, out in your jurisdiction has been closed for a while now it's next to the old Chich Chies or however the heck it's spelled, I've only ever eatten at Chich Chies once and that was back in 1992 or 1993 at Westgate Mall which that whole mall was leveled down to the ground in 2006.
Anyhow that location has been closed for a long time now looks like heck. That whole area out there looks awful, on Brice Road. I rember back in the 1990's that was the busiest street in the Columbus area, now it's just straight hood.
For heavens sake when Wendy's closes up and the building is converted to Percilla's Adult Video's you know it's time to move.
Bob Evans out of the restaurant business

Anyhow Big Boy Corporate Structure
In Western Ohio and Northern Kentucky all the way straight down to Lexington, Kentucky and Tennessee you have
Frisch's Big Boy. They are headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio and have 121 locations.
They are a regional franchiser for Big Boy.
Then you have "Bob's Big Boy" which was the original Big Boy out in Los Angeles, CA. In 1936 and was a local chain to Los Angeles, before being sold to Marriot in the late 1960's and then bought by Elias Brothers in 1987 where the headquarters was moved to Detroit Metro area.
Elias Brothers was a regional Big Boy franchiser Big Boy had several super franchies in order they were Frisch's, Elias Brothers, Shoney's and Eat n Park.
Elias Brothers went defunct in 2000 closed many Big Bo restaurants, and then dropped the Elias Borthers and is now known as Big Boy Corporate.
Frisch's is 4 state territory franchiser and runs there own Big Boys they are not really associated with Big Boy Corporate in Detroit.
kind of let the reginoal franchisers do what ever they wanted to.
Elias Brother and Frisch's both had there own warehousing and private truck fleet.

Frisch's still operates there own private truck fleet to this day while Big Boy corporate is a Reinhardt Food Service account.

Elias Brothers was popular in Detroit and Cleveland, Ohio area ate at a few my self.
There used to be many Big Boys in Cleveland now there are only 3 or 4 left 2 of them I can think of and that's Valley View and Brookpark.
Bob Dobalina and dca Thank this. -
so I gather if BEF or Bob Evans Farms continues to grow it just might be good investment for some.
