No it’s not. The NASOOSC specifically states that “ A shock absorber is not a suspension connecting rod. A defective shock absorber will not result in an OOS condition.” Page 53.

Brake cleaner and a rag. Just don’t forget to replace it.

Ya ever read something and for whatever reason your brain crosses wires and thinks it read something entirely different?

The op clearly states out of service but my brain read tiicketable offense with cvsa points. And i wasn't even drinking last night! Maybe that's the problem.

There's no way for them to tell the shock is blown.

And unless they happen to see the oil immediately. It dries off really quickly. Yes. I've seen it happen on truc.ks I drive

They can see worn bushings and they'll probably say something.

I do it on a daily basis...my wife says it’s on a minute to minute basis.

I can look down and see oil on shock....I'm guessing so can an inspector

If you don't have the tools with you to change it now, do what was suggested above and clean it up with brake cleaner. It only has so much oil in it, in a couple days there won't be any left to squirt out.

When stuff like happens and you can't or don't want to fix it on the road. Always clean it up and do what you have to do to make it less obvious At least make the inspector have to look for it. Instead of the problem jumping out at the inspector and saying (look at me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
