Anyone have a source for this? I don't really want to go chrome when I replace my truck exhaust but that's all I see anywhere.
Black painted exhaust pipe?

a friend of mine has black exhaust on his truck !! he is the owner chromeshack in white pine tn.

You can buy stock pipe and paint it high temp black if you want.
The reason most stuff is chrome is the crome bonding seals the steel against rusting. A painted stack will rust out sooner than you realize. Ever had a painted bumper rust out? -
I have black pipes on my truck. You have to powdercoat them! Do not try to paint them it wont work! Mine have been on my truck for 7 years. The paint will not stay on like powdercoating.

Exactly right!
I just replaced the muffler, stack and elbow on mine. bought some BBQ paint. Guaranteed to something like 1,100 degrees. Looked really good for about ten days, then started peeling. Repainted, same result. I'm just trying to keep it from corroding, this paint won't do that- and I really thought it would work. -

Powder-coating is the only way to go!!!

I have used this place to powder coat some Harley frames and parts, highly recommended. The heads and jugs on a Harley are very hot running and they did excellent prep and finish without blemishes, a bit pricey but a one time job.
Place has a yard big enough to drive your truck to the warehouse also, save on shipping.
