Hey guys, I'm just about ready to get started hauling cars. My last step is figuring out the Bill of Lading and Vehicle condition reports. First, I don't know how to fill them out. They look pretty basic. Second, where do I get them? A couple of ppl have told me that they made their own. Do I just google them and pretty use the same format that I see and throw the company name/logo on? Does anyone have examples they can post up of some filled out?

Hey. By BoL, any standard form should do just make sure the full VIN of the cargo unit is on it. Typo's won't work. Make sure all VIN's are correct and match. Second, by VCR, do you mean for the truck and trailer ? Or do you mean an inspection for the cargo units ? I'll assume you're referring to the cargo. There are blank forms on-line. Even if it's a blank piece of paper, make sure the make, model, color, and VIN are fully documented. Both you, the shipper, and the receiver should ALL sign off on each cargo unit. Whether it's clean, dirty, new, used, and/or any damage. TAKE PICTURES OF EVERYTHING !

Yeah, I know you meant the cargo ....... I was just messin around. Some guys/gals keep the photos for a year or more, or forever . I'd say once you have a signature, you should be safe to delete them EXCEPT if the cargo unit is being night dropped STI (Subject To Inspection), or if the unit is being signed for in any other condition then when you took possession of it ......... IE - You signed for it clean and pretty on a nice sunny day ........ then you drove thru winter, bugs, construction etc etc ......... You know what ? Everything is digital these days ......... buy yerself an external hard drive with 1 TB memory for $ 75 and save EVERYTHING !! If you're a broker then you can write of the expenses. 'Luck - SL

Speedy, I just bought a WD Mycloud, about $150, but it's on the network and there's apps for the mobiles. I've got access to everything from anywhere, and it's not on anyone else's servers.
