    I have never set foot here and don’t intend to as this place wants to take advantage of and ripoff drivers. It’s paid parking due to the fact that’s there is limited parking in that area. The reviews on truckerpath and google are negative. If you need to deliver to this area there is free parking at 2 tas off 95 in Richmond area that are free and I have never had an issue finding a spot at either. If you don’t like ta there are a couple other options pilot/flying j and loves also free. Stay in Richmond and take the extra long drive to avoid this garbage ripoff truck stop, stay away from big Charlie’s. From truckerpath and google reviews they have a problem with lot lizards and beggars the people I try to avoid. Don’t support big Charlie’s.

    Just pull off the freeway at Military Circle Mall (closed down) and park around 100 restaurants for free, IMO.

    I’ve stayed there plenty and haven’t ever seen a single lot lizard. I don’t look at the begging as an issue it’s an opportunity to buy someone a meal. And I don’t see many of them either....

    Frank's truck stop off Military Highway in Chesapeake has good food, ample parking (think it's a dirt lot, haven't been there in a while, and it was free). As I remember the showers were not the nicest, but better than nothing.

    I don't get down there for work anymore, but I do stop in once a year on the way to vacation

    Yes Frank's has some VERY good food albeit the truck stop is a little old and they have 2 lots a big lot behind the RR tracks also

    Charlie’s never was all that great and seems to have really went downhill about 6-7 years ago.
    Frank’s is where I used to stay until they built the loves in Franklin.

    What truckstop on truckerspath doesn't have a bunch of whiny crybabies leaving bad reviews? That's all they do on that app.

    Yes there are a lot negative reviews but some of them do make a good point and some places truly are garbage.

    Well you must have gotten lucky and not run into the beggars I’ve read about there. Beggars and panhandlers are a nuisance and should be shocked with a cattle prod that ought to deter them.
