    I own a T660 with a C-15, 13 speed "ultrashift" and 3.35 rears.

so I brought in my truck to this dealer since they're located right off of I-80 entering PA from OH.
I was having transmission problems and decided to bring it in for a diagnose, my truck symptoms were:

the transmission would "torque lock" and would prevent the engine from starting
the transmission was not hitting gears 7-9-11-13 but all other gears would go in flawlessly.
the truck had a high vibration whenever the transmission was on 13 gear (whenever it would hit it)
power steering joke seal was leaking. <--- which I asked for them to fix (10 min fix with the right tools)

so these guys brought in my truck almost immediately after I pulled up to the dealer, and proceeded to work on it. they had the truck in their shop for 4 hours, I came in at about almost 9 am and had a load to pick up in canton, OH at no later than 2 pm.
during the time the truck was in their shop i spent time browsing on their parts dept and in the drivers lounge. i made a few trips to the truck to get stuff, my cell phone charger and some snacks.
in one of those trips I came in and the technician was hiding behind the open hood of my truck eating. I asked him a question about the truck so he could acknowledge I found him doing this, and he startle when he saw me there, (he was not on break, he was on my time on my truck)
on another trip to my truck (spying again) I found the transmission technician also on the truck. he was hooked from the drivers side with his laptop on a kart, batteries cover removed and was "calibrating" the transmission.
I talked to service and let them know my concerns, still there was no improvement on timing on it. i grew stressed since it was getting time for me to leave and still there was no real response as to what was causing the transmission to skip gears.
I took one more trip to the shop to get my cell phone charger since it was almost 1 pm, to find all the technicians standing up joking and chatting by their long bench, and almost crapped when they saw me back there, my truck was still hooked to their "transmission's tech laptop" and nobody even looking at it.
I was upset, I asked to put my truck back together, paid the bill and left.

I was charged for the seal replacemtent (1 hour) and the transmission diagnose or (4 hours)

got the loaded in canton, OH and crawled on 12th gear at 55 mph at 17 rpms all the way to san bernardino, CA burning my fuel. I took my truck after delivering the load to a corner mechanic in CA who went under the transmission, came out with the splitter valve in his hand and sent me to Kenworth of inland empire for a $350 replacement.
I brought it back, he put it back in and TIGHTEN THE BIG NUT ON THE BACK ON THE TRANSMISSION WHICH WAS ABOUT TO FALL OFF AND CREATING THE VIBRATION ON 13 GEAR AT HIGH SPEED.

    I got back to Kenworth of PA and talking to the service manager "Sean M." stating their shi-ty job and that I have receipts of work and parts from the mechanic and KW dearler in California, sent them to him over an email. Still they didn't offer to even throw me a faking cupon for a mere oil change. this was more than 4 weeks ago;

I know I won't see a cent of the money I feel they wrongly took from me and that this will go up onto air and bring me nothing back so this is not to state I want anything in return, just to warn every O/O out there of these guys neglect and un-caring way to threat your truck if you take into consideration the 2 technicians that worked on my truck did not even go under the truck to check for anything loose or miss-working on it. their final diagnose was: there is a bad wire on your wire harness and we will have to sit your truck for the whole day to check the 3 harnesses and get the right one replaced or fixed.

It's sad. Half of the shops try and do a good job and the other half are both clueless and don't give a crap. And it's a coin toss going into soewhere you don't have any experience with, especially with "unique" issues that are beyond the "only can properly do oil change" mentality of many "technicians" that are fresh out of trade school with zero real world experience.

The deisel mechanic world today is just the like the truck driver world ... full of greenhorns just trying to do better then McDonald's fry cook status.

Lucar, thanks for the info and it sucks you had to go through this. I do the same as you when my truck is in the shop, walk in there about every 20 mins to see whats going on and I have had the same experience with techs goofing off on my dollar.

Whenever they say it is an electrical or wiring problem I always run and get a 2nd opinion.

if you take into consideration the 2 technicians that worked on my truck did not even go under the truck to check for anything loose or miss-working on it yet you post that "I was charged for the seal replacemtent (1 hour) " how did they change a seal without being under the truck .

yes, even so to this day they won't even call me back on their "investigation" or whatever was going to happen as to why I was asked to send in receipts of work done after they had it in their shop.

Why not forget about Kenworth of PA and go for the higher ups? That shop is not making a good name for the brand, and I'd like to think Kenworth or Paccar would like to know about it.
