I've driven with or without my husband for a few years.
The most significant change we've made in the cab to better our lives is the purchase of an air mattress.
We run our own Volvo up some very rough and bumpy roads and have found that an air mattress filled to about 85 percent of volume will absorb a lot of the jouncing.
We also keep the VHF radio really low and listen to books on the iPod.
Sometimes bad singing will wake the other person, but at least they're comfy.
Anyone else have any suggestions on some things that make sleeping while moving an easier thing?

Are you talking just a regular air mattress like for camping or one of those air comfort beds they advertise on T.V.?
We have a 780 Volvo and just keep the bed made up, never open up the table, and put a 4 inch memory foam bed topper on top of the cushions. This works really well and absorbs alot of the road shock and vibrations. -
Digging on the memory foam. We never make up the table either and took out the cushions to make room for the mattress.
In the winter we use thick carpet (bottom of bed and sides) air mattress, memory foam, heated 12v blanket then a mattress cover over all of it before making it.
We started with the camping ones and found some good self inflating types after.
Too much of a pain to open the table all the time, hey? -
VNL would be totally great driving single.
I would just leave the table up and have my own little house.... the only downfall would be stumbling down the ladder for a pee. -
lol...i agree!
