Depends on how accurate you want the reading? Does it have to be down to less then 10 yards? a GPS is going to give you the most precise reading if you really want to go in that direction.

    hoertertank Thanks this.

How accurate do you need to be? Where/how much is the discrepancy?

Google is all I use 99.99% of the time. Now there is a need for some common sense to be involved. It doesn't realize you're not in a Prius. So scoping out the route before you just jump in the truck and go is recommended. Like when you see its going to save an 1/8 of a mile over a 40 mile span through town by taking you through some guys front yard, you must ask yourself " Hmmmmmmm. "

You will never find a nav aid that equates with what the advertised miles of a load are. Once in a blue moon they will match up.

Truckmiles.com is your best source unless someone knows something else. There are lotsa routes where Google will take you but truckmiles knows better.

    Example.
Billings Montana to Reno Nevada. Google will take you through Yellowstone. Trucks aren't allowed. Truckmiles will show the correct route. 150 miles difference between Google and truckmiles.
