Can you tell us what made you decide to get a CDL ? Are you aware of the high turnover in the industry ? Carriers are not increasing their fleet size . The only reasons they are hiring is to replace a turnover of newbies that last less than 6 months . http://www.ccjdigital.com/trucking-sheds-3500-jobs-in-june/ .
There are better options for you to provide for your family .

    TMC TRANSPORT

They treat military veterans like KINGS and the starting pay is 24% of the haul or. 34¢ mile.

And being a VET, they hook ya up with a decal on your door with your name and branch of service.

I'm an ex MP and will be driving for TMC very soon!

    Check Roehl Transport Inc.

Schneider has a veterans program and lots of divisions to choose from; tanker/hazmat, oilfield, intermodal, OTR, regional, dedicated, etc. They hire new CDL drivers for all these divisions.

$.34 a mile is 1980's wages . Sounds like they are being treated more like paupers than kings . I guess you could say they are getting royally shafted . Veterans deserve better , especially those with families to support .

That's starting pay for recent graduates. If you know a better starting pay for a new driver, PROVE IT
