My vote goes to Hat Six, Casper, Wy. Truly old school with a flavor that makes a guy proud to be a Trucker

I was just at the Hat Six a few months ago. First time in five years. I don't get to go through Casper much anymore but I had a load to Billings. The Coffee Cup in Vermillion, SD was a favorite but I haven't been there since they converted it to a TA Express. Fireplace upstairs with a seating area was nice. Kwik Trips will always be at the top of my list but I don't get to go to Wisconsin anymore, either.

I haven't out that since retiring, but it sounds greatFlat Earth Trucker Thanks this. -
Yes I have and even though I am old school I think they did a nice job on the remodel. I'll always like the old designs like the Pure truck stops or the Union 76 with the spiral stairs going up to the drivers room and the rooms for sleeping and the drivers only sections in the restaurants. The remodel does make it bright and welcoming. I have been in with my wife since I retired from driving with our 5th wheel rv and we both enjoyed it very much. -
Adding Stone's Truck Stop to this list...I-29 in Watertown SD. (The exit number escaped me...I want to say 171?)
I liked it better when they had the drivers lounge upstairs...before they converted that TV area into offices. I hope the bar and pool table area is still open up there...I haven't been through there in about two years. They moved the lounge/TV room area and laundry room downstairs, so it's not as quiet as it used to be (which aside from the food and wifi is one of the main reasons I used to stop through there so often...also because the company I worked for at the time had a drop yard and two customers in town.) But it also has a sit-down restaurant with good food and free wifi. (They also have a truck wash on-site, open Mon-Fri last I knew.)
Also, I'm going to presume this is still true: the family that owns Stone's told me years back they have zero intention of ever selling that place to franchise or corporate interests.classic_150, Truckermania, D.Tibbitt and 2 others Thank this. -
