I went to Bates in Tacoma and recommend it very highly. It's a 6 month program, however, which not everyone can afford the time to do.

No information or opinion to share, I was looking in a different area and didn't get that far north.

Use the search function of the forums here, it can be very useful in finding postings on something specific like this!

 

I know someone who interviewed for this position and it is indeed all that: a good wage, Teamster benefits and paid CDL training if you can be reliable and functional for a few months. They do also hire straight out of CDL school, as my friend learned.

The only gotcha is that it's a warehouse position first and driving dispatch is assigned by seniority. So, you may not drive for a year or two while you move up the board. The rest of the time you'll be running a forklift.

Note, Lynden has a lot of different divisions, but this is how the Dock-to-Driver and Driver positions in Fife (Tacoma) were set up. Others may be very different.
