I do regional with a some intrastate and had some Continentals HSR 16ply and was 1 of the best steer tires I ever had. I put about 120k on them and they still had plenty of rubber left on them. I have always been a name brand believer like goodyear bridgestone etc.. Anyways, I've replace them today with the Yokohama 023, I couldn't pass up the price on them specially with this times. Did some research on them and it wasn't to bad except for the recall back in 2005, but was a small batch.![]()

Michelin first choice then bridgestone I run 105 cold psi.The centramatic balancing rings work.My last employer ran them all the way around tractor and trailer.

I only get 100,000 miles out of the Michelin XZA1's whereas I can get 150,000 miles out of a set of XZA3's. Going to try the Continental HSL2's or Yokohama RY617's next.

I started out running Michelin XZA3's on the steers with Centramatics. I love them. Truck drives good and they are wearing GREAT. This is on an old '96 Freightshaker.
I liked them so good, I put them on the drives, too. Ran them all winter with no problems. I can't believe how good they are wearing. I wanted to try the XDA Energy's, but I couldn't get them, so I ended up trying the XZA3's.
I have about 95,000 on the steers and 65,000 on the drives. They all still look new.The Challenger Thanks this. -

I was told that the "A" in XZA3 actually designates them as an all position tire and not really strictly a steer tire.
I should have mentioned, though, that I don't leave the pavement in my application. I don't know how they'd be if you were in another situation. Also, I stay in TX, OK, KS, MO, AR mostly, so the winters there usually don't see deep snow.
I didn't have any problems, though, in the snow I did run through. The Challenger Thanks this. -
