Hello ya'll!! I am new here and just had a question. I have been trucking off and on for about 13 years, mostly overtheroad, and woth a few different companies, I keep trying other stuff but keep going back to trucking cuz it pays more. I have great referneces from everywhere I have worked. I am looking to committ to a great small family owned company in Minnesota. Looking to drive otr every other week, or short haul regional. Really need parttime right now and home more. But I am flexible to and can take longer runs now and then. Wondering what are the best companies in central Minnesota near Litchfield. Thinking about Woodys in Willmar, Daggett in Clearwater, or Taylor in Northfield. Does anyone know anything good or bad about those, or others? Thanks for all advice and info. Have a blessed day!

A Couple months ago, I bumped into a driver who lived in Maine and he worked for Waletich. I think they're from Kasota. He had nothing but good things to say about the company. I believe they only have about 50 trucks, so they might be right up your alley.
enicolasy Thanks this. -
I ran into a Kane Transport driver yesterday who seemed happy.

Hi I am just west of you in Grove City. Just started at Ramler Trucking in Albany. Decent company, they run a lot of Wi ILL and around. Chicken from Cold Spring, also a flat divison moving cement structures from Albany. Call Sue at 320-845-4500 Just ran a load from Melrose to Eau Claire and then a drop and hook from Arcadia Wi to Cold Spring. Just don't call Pat Fruth cheap wages and long wait to get paid. Got my first check from Ramler before I got my last check from Pat Fruth. Mike Thomas at Litchfield Shipping may also be for you. Willow Express from Melrose, Jim Fuchs from Melrose has an ad on craigslist for a driver to do 3 rounds a week Cold Spring to Cedar Falls IA, mty to Arcadia and back to Cold Spring.drop and hook in Arcadia WI

I've been with Caledonia almost two years. Food grade tankers (no hazmat) and may not be for everyone, but in my 35 years of trucking, this is the best little company I've ever worked for. Since I came on board we've had a total of $0.07/mi pay increase (first $0.03/mi last year, and then $0.04/mi last Jan. 01) and on March 01, switched to Love's for our primary fueling. Frankly, in my opinion, that right there is a big plus. One of my primary reasons for staying in this racket, right now, besides a daughter in college, is the fact they have a real good benefits package. I've got a little business that could almost support us by itself, but that health insurance booger is a big one. Other nice things include one week vacation after the first year, two weeks after the second year. And they treat you like a human being and don't try to micro-manage the hell out of you. They've also done a very, very good job getting me home for things I wanted to get home for. By the time you've been with them 5 or 6 months, you're pretty much going to know all the customer locations, which can be a bit different at first, but I've found their customers to be way more pleasant to deal with than all those big distribution centers and meat packing plants I used to go in and out of all the time. Yeah, I like it here.
