Will graduate next month. Looking for a company that has the best sleeper cabin. Comfort after driving is very important to be successful in trucking in my opinion.

I have the 78" stand up on my 389. The next one (2020) will have the 58" flat top.
KB3MMX Thanks this. -
austinmike, PE_T and Bean Jr. Thank this.

I don't like driving them , However I think Volvos have had the best sleeper I have had to use. That was some time ago maybe different now. By the way you have way more to worry about right now than the sleeper
tommymonza, Tb0n3 and KB3MMX Thank this. -
What about about those condo type I been reading here.

You will learn about the Condo in your time later on.
But right now making sure everything works 100% for cooling, heat, new mattress for you and so forth. The basics is really important.
You should be pretty happy with the sleepers today. In my time we made do with a bench across the daycab.QuietStorm, Ffx95, intrepidor and 1 other person Thank this. -
The Freightliner condo is the best I would say. It big and roomy and quiet. Volvo is nice but they are smaller then Freightliner unless you get the biggest Volvo, most of those are teams because it a bigger sleeper and it a very heavy truck.
Kenworth and Peterbilt are very nice trucks. They have good build quality better then Freightliner but they have what hole you have get thru. Freightliner you stand up in drivers seat and walk into sleeper basically. Freightliner is basically all plasticTruckermania Thanks this. -

Plastic indeed.
In my time we had steel, actually riveted in places. Or aluminum etc. Freightliner had the biggest Condo up till the late 90's the KW T2000 was a very quiet sleeping truck around 9-11 time for us in two bunks. That's one of the reasons we liked them so much. The sleep. (Usually with the landing gear down to stabilize in the wind.)
The early 90's Mack with sleepers to go with the daycabs were good. But ultimately a little bit smaller than they could have been. Mack was always smallish. Petes and so forth well... their day has passed into the land of Plastic.
Now Volvo. There was a 89 model with the intergrated E sleeper which for the time was pretty good. In those days I was in cabovers where the sleeper behind the doghouse is about the size of a adult coffin in a funeral home. I kid you not. We made do. The FLD 120 truck and the XL Classic were condos of their time in the mid 90's which I consider to be the very best in terms of space and use of (TV, Mr Coffee, Desk etc)
The Freightliner Century was our last sleeper truck on the road as a team. With the two of us in about 600 pounds more of food and fluids (Enough for 6 or more weeks) made us a very heavy tractor, I think we were cautious when loading 48000 or more into the reefer greatdane in those days with that tractor.
Today's tractors have consistently gotten obese and heavy. You could not load 48000 or more anymore. You are down to 45000 if that. Which is really stupid due to loss of revenue earned by the truck. Haul more earn more.Canadianhauler21 Thanks this.
