Are there any other tall drivers that are as uncomfortable as I am in typical truck seats. I'm 6'3" and 180 lbs, so my problem is not the width, but rather the height. Nearly every truck seat I've seen in my 18 years as driver, and certainly every oem seat, has a one piece back with an integrated headrest. They seem to be made for people under 6'. When I sit completely upright with good posture, the headrest hits me in the middle of the shoulder blades, leaving a 2 in gap between my spine and the seat back. I end up driving slouched over, and the middle of my back hurts. Schooching my butt forward a little causes me to drop down and my head and shoulder fit perfectly in the seat back, but then my tailbone and lower back start to hurt. So a long shift has me alternating between those two positions, and essentially "standing up" by stretching out as much as I can at a 45 degree angle for a few seconds and muttering some choice words, for hours on end. The seat bottoms also tend to be too short, causing pressure points that cut off blood circulation to my legs. I'm forever dreaming of the day that I own my own truck, and get a seat of my own choosing. But what would my choice be, are there any with taller backs or at least a movable headrest? Recaro? Isringhausen? What seats do other tall drivers like?
Best seat for tall drivers?

Ok, I'm new to the forum, but no forum novice. I meant to start this thread in the Experienced Truckers Advice section, but ended up here instead. Now I can't figure out how to delete. I see the edit button and putting the cursor over says edit/delete, but then I click it and can't find the delete, even under the advanced tab. Someone help me out, what I am I missing?

If you want it moved you need to contact a Moderator.
To your question though the ISRI has an adjustable shoulder/neck rest. Be prepared for sticker shock. Its going to be my next seat. But I am not tall so cant help you there. -
I know moderators are usually needed to move a thread, but I've always been able to delete my own posts and threads on other forums.
A Recaro or Isri couldn't be more than a couple grand, right? Worth every penny in my book. It's testament to my passion for driving that I've spent this long being utterly miserable while actually doing it. I've always been the lone voice complaining about seat fit wherever I've worked, so I just wonder if other guys feel the same way. I can't be the only one. I mean, it's a matter of ergonomics, they just can't possibly properly fit a guy over 6'. -
1800 for the Irsri that I priced form Sears seating in Jersy. That was fully loaded had air and heat in the seat.
Thats what so great about the truck show you can go around and try them all. I am only 5'7" and some seats fit better than others. My next seat will be a Irsi it fit the best. -
I'm 6'3" and have a Legacy seat from Seats Inc. This is the second Legacy that I have purchased. First one was about 5 yrs ago, it was soso. Last one I bought was about 4 or 5 month's ago and it is pretty dang comfy. They have redone them, wider back and seat, longer seat and arm rests, the seat has three different length settings. I pull it all the way out and it is like being in my recliner at home. The one I purchased is pretty basic. Lumbar support and height adjustment is all. Good price, I think I paid around 600 for it. Still happy with purchase.

brenes-built Thanks this.

I know Seats Inc. make models that have I flat back panel all the way up to the head rest. I'm 6'2" and really tired of every factory seat that has tried to convert me into a hunchback. Maybe I can retire and ring the bells at Notre Dame!

Pay attention on Grammer seats...! really good for tall..

I find the K-wopper air ride seat wasn't too bad. It's just that it sits a little further up and is annoying moving my big foot around the clutch when I need to get at it. If the seat could go a little further back, it would be much better comfort wise. Sure beats where I was riding when I first started. A bench seat with some fake green leather.
. Twas when I rigged and rode shotgun. It was fun and a great learning experience.
