I’ve been driving for several years, so my body is used to driving. But the truck I’m driving has a worn-out driver’s seat that’s pretty much like sitting on a brick (this happens over time to all vehicles, as my body aches if I drive my 2002 Camry for around an hour, whereas I can sit in my 2017 Camry for over 3 hours without issues). After around 45-60 minutes, my rear-end, hamstrings and lower back starts to ache. I’m a local driver, so I get more opportunities to get out & stretch than most OTR drivers, but it’s still an annoyance. I drive 2015 KW, so while the company has been known to replace driver’s seats, they keep putting it off when I tell them. They’re supposed to be getting new trucks next year.
I’ve heard the Ultimate Purple Seat Cushion is good but pricey. But if it makes a big difference then it’s worth it, as a good seat cushion can help even for a driver’s seat that isn’t worn out. Besides, I can always quit the company as I only gross around $50k annually, but I’d prefer not to be a job-hopper.
Best seat cushion for aching buttocks/lower back?

I don't know if anyone on here could tell you which one you would find most comfortable. I went through several, including the purple. I found it the least comfy, but the most expensive. I found one at an Ollies discount store that was the most comfy I ever had, but lost it when I lost my truck after being shot in an armed robbery. I got another one that's decent out of a Loves, made by I think goodyear of all places.
Which one is "best" is going to depend on how YOU feel about it, not someone else. What someone else thinks is comfy you might hate. It's like pillows or mattresses. Or even shoes. Try on several. It's all I can suggest.Zonno Thanks this. -

How much do you use your arm rests?
I find when I try to use a cushion that it lowers the arm rests to the point that they become useless.
If you’re not using them than it won’t change anything but it might be worth a try to lean on them a bit more, won’t help your bottom but it might help your back.Zonno Thanks this. -

True story. One company I worked for had lousy driver seats. One new driver, while out on the road, pulled into a truck stop and removed the seat and threw it into a dumpster.
He called the company and said, "While I was in the truckstop eating a meal, someone stole my drivers seat. I can't leave without a seat."
The company told him to get a new seat installed. He did, an expensive one, real cushy and modern. He got away with it.snowlauncher and broke down plumber Thank this.
